Due to inclement weather, FTCSC will be on a Two-Hour Delay, Monday, December 15. Below you will find helpful information to guide you.
When does the school bus arrive?
School buses will pick up students two hours later than their regular pickup time.
For example, if your child’s bus typically arrives at 7:00 AM, it will arrive at 9:00 AM on a two-hour delay day.
Does this change my child’s bus stop?
No. Your child’s bus will follow the same route and stop locations, just two hours later.
My child drives to FCHS. When should they leave for school?
Please take a moment to discuss safe driving with your child. Inclement weather often affects road conditions, so encourage them to allow extra travel time, drive slowly, and maintain a safe following distance.
Student drivers should plan to leave two hours later than their normal departure time. For example, if your child typically leaves at 6:40 AM, they should plan to leave at 8:40 AM. That said, due to the weather conditions, we recommend allowing a little extra time and departing at least five minutes earlier than the adjusted time.
Where can I find the Two-Hour Delay School Start Schedule?
Our FTCSC Weather Emergency Procedures website - https://www.ftcsc.org/o/ftcsc/page/weather-emergency-procedures - has the Two-Hour Delay school start schedule.
Does a two-hour delay impact the end of the school day?
No. The school day will end at its regularly scheduled time.
How can families help?
Have a plan for what a two-hour delay looks like in your home.
If your child rides the bus, ensure they understand their day begins two hours later. While the route is the same, the walk to the bus stop will occur at a different time, so keeping track of time is essential.
If you have a student driver, review what it means to drive in inclement weather and how to adjust for changing road conditions.
Thank you for your continued partnership and flexibility as we prioritize safety while maintaining purposeful learning opportunities for our students.
Stay safe and stay warm,
FTCSC
